Top 10 Nail Polishes...For Fall

I couldn't be more excited that the seasons are changing and Fall is officially arriving! I pretty much love everything about Fall, the clothes, boots, cooler weather, good food, and of course, the colors of the season. One of my favorite things about Fall is the fact that I can bust out my favorite nail polishes that haven't seen the light of day through Spring and Summer. I compiled a list of my top 10 nail polishes in case you were looking for new colors to add to your collection. I will say that everything you will see in this post is either by Essie or OPI. Yes, both brands can be sort of expensive as far as nail polishes go (typically running between $8.00 and $9.00 dollars)but I justify the expense by doing my own manicures at home instead of visiting a salon and paying someone else!

With that said, I give you my top 10 nail polishes for the Fall season!

(From Left to Right)
1. OPI Lincoln Park After Dark
This is my absolute favorite color...a great deep plum color that is one of OPI's most popular colors.

2. Essie Merino Cool
An awesome grey color with a hint of purple to keep it from looking too cold.

3. OPI We'll Always Have Paris
A deep sophisticated purple with a name that is just as sophisticated!

4. OPI Russian Navy
A very dark navy with a hint of shimmer that keeps it from looking too gothic.

5. Essie Little Brown Dress
One of my favorites, although many people may not be too enthusiastic about painting their finger nails brown haha

6. OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress
Red can be a hard color to get right, but this red is fun and vampy all at the same time!

7. OPI Bubble Bath
A great natural color that is worn by Food Network Star Giada De Laurentiis. I hate to admit it, but every time I watched her show, I found myself staring at her perfectly manicured nails. One day, on a whim, I Googled to see if I could find the name of the nail polish that she always wears and OPI Bubble Bath popped up on the screen. That night, I drove to my nearest ULTA and purchased it...yes, I admit that I am easily influenced by celebrities. *hangs head in shame*

8. Essie Carry On
Add this to the list of my favorite deep purple polishes...same color family, completely different look from OPI's We'll Always Have Paris

9. Essie Buy Me A Cameo
A pretty sandy metallic color with hints of gold throughout

10. OPI Top Coat
Not a fun color like the others, but an essential to make sure that your fun colors stick around for longer than a day or two!

As is evident by the list above, I have quite a bit of nail polish in my collection. Instead of keeping all of favorite colors behind the door of my medicine cabinet, I store them all in an apothecary jar on my vanity. This way I am able to see all of my colors while keeping things organized.

What are some of your favorite nail polish brands and colors?

  1. I can't get nail polish to stay on my nails longer than two days without chipping and I use the OPI top coat... so I have given up on painting my nails. Which is a shame, because I have nice nails that grow really fast! Any suggestions on keeping them from chipping?

    1. You may need to try a base coat if you are noticing that your nails chip easily. I always start with OPI's base coat, then follow up with two coats of either OPI or Essie color, then finish with the OPI topcoat. I typically get a week out of my polish with very minimal (if at all) chipping! :) I am on day 5 of an Essie polish and haven't had any chipping yet this week...and I even sanded and spraypainted a DIY project yesterday! Hope this helps! :)

  3. As sad as I am to say goodbye to the bright pink toenails of the summer, I have to say I am loving all the dark blues for fall!

  4. Agree with Hooch on base coat and top coat! If I skip one or the other, the results don't last as long. Love these colors!!!
